Riccardo Roan is an Italian film director, screenwriter and analog photographer based in Veneto. His work moves between cinema and photography, exploring suspended atmospheres, social tension and psychological introspection.

Born into a family shaped by photography and music, Roan grew up around images, light and performance. He later worked in his family’s advertising company, gaining hands-on experience in visual production, and studied with cinematographer Dante Cecchin.

He writes and directs his own films. His short film No Share won Best Drama at the Los Angeles Film Awards and was selected by several international festivals. His second short, Il Tratto Mancante (The Missing Trait), was selected at Cinequest in California and received further international recognition.
The third short film is currently in post production phase and will be premiered in 2027.

He is now developing his first feature film, exploring two possible projects that continue his visual work on social conflict and psychology.

His photographic work, shot on film, extends the same visual language: cinematic, intimate and often suspended between realism and unease.
